Ahhh... Good ol' San Diego Comic-Con is fast approaching, and that means we're about to be innovated with dozens and dozens of announcements and images of exclusives for the show.
After Mattel's announcement last week of the first of their exclusives (Doomsday and Hordak), Hasbro-- via Entertainment Weekly-- is giving us the first of their offerings, and it's gonna be a hot one!
As many of you know, Jabba-- much like last year's Boba Fett-- will see a regular retail release, but the SDCC version has a few extras.
First, he will include his Muppet sidekick and prisoner heckler, Salacious Crumb. Also included will be his "water pipe" (bong!) thingie. What is also great about this version, as it was with last year's Fett, is the packaging.
The box will unfold to form a [cardboard] throne diorama! This will probably be the only version of a throne that we'll get, so I imagine that this will be the more desirable version since the retail one will only include Jabba and nothing else.
No price has been announced for this set as of yet, but considering that last year's Boba Fett was $55, with a normal retail of $20, I'm guessing that this set will be $85 - $100
I predict the retail version of Jabba will fail miserably on the market with no extras such as Salacious Crumb to pad the release.
ReplyDeleteThat very well may be the case. Certainly with this version having all the needed bells and whistles to create a proper release, the aftermarket price is going to rise pretty steadily.
