Damn, I so want that Ratbat!! So awesome looking!!! But I just can't buy a $160 figure that I don't want just to get that Ratbat. But I gotta admit, it is tempting to do so.
The G2 Sideswipe isn't my thing, but I do appreciate that Takara didn't skimp on what could have just been a simple repaint. This figure features all-new weapons and a head sculpt, all very comic book inspired.

"Balls."
That was my first thought when I saw this picture for Takara's re-colored re-release of Soundwave.
Of course it has to come with Ratbat, and there's gonna be no other way to get it.
It definitely sucks for collectors like me who have no desire to add "Soundblaster" to my collection, but I understand Takara's reasoning what this. Soundblaster isn't too well known outside of Japan where, in the Headmasters cartoon series (which didn't air in the US) Soundwave was destroyed by Blaster and then rebuilt as "Soundblaster". Other than the color change, he was the same as the original Soundwave.
Anyway, so yeah, I'm sure that everyone would love that Ratbat, and only a few would really want Soundblaster, so making Ratbat exclusive to this set is going to sell a lot more Soundblasters than they would have if he was accompanied by any of the previously released cassettes.
Balls.
Also shown here for the first time is the G2 re-color of Sideswipe. I was not a fan of the original G2 line, so this has no real appeal for me, personally.
You can expect to see more pictures and info soon, so I'll bring that all to you here as soon as it becomes available.
Soundblaster is set for a March 2014 release for $159.99, Sideswipe will available early next year for $79.99
