I don't usually report on statues. I know they kind of fall into the same realm as action figures and other collectibles, but I'm not a "statue guy"-- and since this is my blog-- I tend to just stick the the stuff that interests me personally, with the occasional report on some related items/figures that I think they rest of you might like, even if I don't.
One thing I am, however, is a huge Marvel Comics fan. I still read the new books every week! I'm also a huge admirer of Kotobukiya's amazing work, although I've never taken the plunge to buy anything from them yet because, as I mentioned, I'm more of a "figure" collector.
However, with the start of Kotobukiya's new [Avengers] Marvel Now! line, I will finally be taking that plunge.
All the statues in the line are based off of illustrations and designs by Marvel powerhouse artist Adi Granov. (You may know him as the designer of the Iron Man movie armors.) The will be in the 1/10 scale and will feature magnetic bases along with the accompanying magnets in their feet.
Also announced for this line are the rest of the "core" Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye and Thor-- all done in their latest Marvel Now! costumes. I'd love to see this line go beyond just those figure, but only time will tell if that happens.
The Hulk will come in at just under 10 inches tall and will be released in March for $64.99.
Black Widow will stand 7 1/2 inches tall and will be out in May for $54.99.
