As expected, we got a look at a lot of new Star Wars figures from Hasbro during Celebration this weekend.
Both The Black Series and The Vintage Collection were represented, as well as a new premium role play item and the next Star Wars Haslab reveal.
Kicking things off with The Vintage Collection, there will be new 3-Pack box set featuring Empire figures from the upcoming Jedi: Survivor video game. This set will include a KX Security Droid, a Magna Guard and a Riot Scout Trooper.
This set will have a retail price of $50.99 and is set to ship in the Fall.
Also coming to the TVC line is this deluxe Dark Trooper figure from The Mandalorian series. It has a wall unit, alternative hands and blast effects for their feet. This one will cost $27.99 and has a release date of Spring of 2023.
From the Rogue One movie, we'll be getting Antoc Merrick's astromech droid R2-SHW. This one will also be coming in Spring of 2023 for $16.99
What would a TVC collection be without the main character from the latest and greatest Disney+ series? With that in mind, here's a look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) figure from the series of the same name. He's set for a Fall of 2022 release for $14.99
"Hello there." |
Coming to Hasbro Pulse on 6/1 is the next "army builder" set in the TVC line with this 4-Pack of Rebel Troopers (Echo Base Gear). It will sell for $44.99 and will release in Spring of 2023
Keeping with the 3.74" scale, but moving over to the Retro Collection, there will be another new figure in the Prototype design with this Luke Skywalker in Snow Speeder gear. To me, this figure makes no sense. This particular figure was never made in the original line-- upon which this style of prototype figure is based-- and was only made a few years ago when these kinds of prototypes no longer exist. So, this figure isn't a "recreation" of something that, at one time, actually existed. This figure is a complete fantasy created just to fit into the style of this line. I don't know why they chose this figure and didn't choose a figure from the original Kenner line like all the others. Oh, well. This figure will be a Target exclusive and is priced at $14.99 with a Spring 2023 release.
Moving over to The Black Series, we're getting a second version of Greef Karga from his appearance in the second season of The Mandalorian. This one will retail for $24.99 and has a Spring 2023 release date.
This is a fan favorite character that's been a long time coming to The Black Series line. And, Aayla Secura looks fantastic. Just perfect. Too bad all she does is look good for a second and then get shot dead in the films, but she still looks great as a figure, and we could all use more Jedi, right? This one will also be $24.99 and has a Spring 2023 release date.
Another long awaited figure coming to the line is Darth Maul from his appearance in the Clone Wars cartoon series. This is another great looking figure. Again, $24.99 and a Spring 2023 release.
Another figure coming to the "Gaming Greats" sub line is a Black Series version of the Riot Scout Trooper from the Jedi: Survivor video game. You can pre-order this one exclusively from the Gamestop website (or in physical stores) starting on 6/1. He retails for $27.99 and will also be released in the Spring of 2023.
The final reveal in the Black Series line is this two-pack featuring figures of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader as they were depicted by painter/designer Ralph McQuarrie's concept art for A New Hope.
We've gotten 3.75" figures based on McQuarrie's art way back in the day, but this is the first time they've been offered in a 6" scale. Hopefully this will just the be the first of many 6" figures based on McQuarrie's art to come.
This set will be a Shop Disney exclusive (augh!), and you can pre-order it starting on 6/1 for $55.99. This set also has a Spring 2023 release date. A small number of sets may also go up on Hasbro Pulse, as well. So, if you have any issues getting one from Shop Disney then try there, too.
Entering into the realm of role play items, Hasbro is offering up this new helmet in their Premium Black Series range. It features the helmet of an Artillery Stormtrooper as seen in The Mandalorian.
This helmet will retail for $131.99 and has a Spring 2023 release date.
The second and final role play item is also the next Star War Haslab project. It will be The Third Sister-- Reva's-- lightsaber.
It will cost you $499.99 and the pre-order will run from today up until Midnight, July 11th. If the project is fully funded, pre-orders will begin to ship out in the Fall of next year.
The last bit of news from the convention is just on those Black Series Inquisitors that we saw yesterday, which are all listed at $24.99 and are slated for a Spring 2023 release.
