TOY NEWS FOR 4/9/2016 - ASSORTED NECA NEWS - NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, PREDATOR and ALIENS

So, apparently 20th Century Fox is feeling the sting of loosing the distribution rights to the Star Wars films because-- just like Star Wars day-- there is now an "Alien Day" which is April 26th.

Many companies will be showing off new Aliens related merchandise and among them will be NECA with the announcement of three new Aliens figures-- the first ever Vasquez and Newt figures along with a Kenner inspired Ripley figure.

While we'll have to wait for pics of these, NECA has released a picture of the insert of the Ripley figure.

On the Predator front, NECA has released these pictures of the next wave of Predator figures from the AvP films. Predator is one of my all-time favorite films, but all the subsequent films were pretty terrible. Mostly, they were all B Movies at best. But, the good news is the 20th Century Fox is currently in pre-production of a new high-budget, summer blockbuster style Predator movie. Also, Shane Black, the writer of the original film, is back and working on the new one. Fingers crossed that they finally come up with a worthy successor to the original Predator.

Look for these in May for 22.99 each.

NECA will also soon be releasing another Freddy Krueger figure, this time from A Nightmare on Elm Street: A New Nightmare.

Look for this version of Freddy to be released in June for around $24.99
