TOY NEWS FOR 7/27/2013 - PLAYMATES - TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES CLASSIC COLLECTION

Wish you still had those cool Ninja Turtles from when they were first released 1988? Well, no need to scour ebay and buy someone else's used crap! Now you can buy 'em fresh from the factory once more with Playmates upcoming "Classic Collection"-- a reissuing of all the Turtles greats from back in the day!

(How's that for a sales pitch?)

Starting things off, as you might expect, are the re-issues of the original four Turtles along with Splinter and Shredder (both of which we need for the "Classics" line. Not this Classics line, you know, the other one.)

There will also be a re-issues of the original Party Wagon and some silly looking mech armor things that I honestly don't remember in the original line. Probably thought it was just as dumb then as I think it is now.

I'm sure if this line does well that this will just be the tip of the iceberg! I really did love all the awesome, crazy and cool Turtles characters from back in the day (give me Usagi Yojimbo again!) and there's plenty of stuff to re-issue, so I'm curious to see just how far this series will go.

Looks like this line will be exclusive to Toys R Us with a release date of late August.

The figures will retail for $12.99 (bit of a rip if you ask me) and the Party Wagon will be $59.99

Yeah, this sure isn't 1990 anymore, huh?
