There have been dozens and dozens of interpretations of Eastman and Laird's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles over the years. Almost all of them have had a strong leaning towards the younger crowd as the brand needs to continually reintroduce itself to the next generation of potential fans.
When we get something that's made more for the original fans: those of us who grew up knowing only the original comics-- a dark, gritty, bloody, cussing band of badass ninja brothers-- we rejoice in seeing figures like these new Samurai interpretations from Fury Toys.
The only down side is that these are not licensed figures, so that might turn some off from getting them.
We only have the blue bandana'ed, sword wielding one so far (here named "Spring"), but hopefully Fury Toys will do the other three with their unique weapons.
You can pre-order "Spring" now from 5KToys. (I haven't found a US store selling them yet.) He'll cost you $50 with a five dollar deposit. Shipping to the US will also only cost you $5.
These will be in the 1/12 scale, so he only stand at just under 5" tall (12cm).
While he's named "Spring", he's not set to relese until Fall/Winter of this year.
