I do have an interest in some of their figures, but two things keep me from jumping into line of figures. One-- the price is just too damned much for a 10" figure, even with as cool as they are. And two-- I don't like the fact that all of their actor's likenesses all look like anime characters. No matter how hard they seem to try, Play Arts Kai is just never going to come close to capturing an actor's likeness. Maybe this is done on purpose for the Asian market who may prefer this look; I honestly don't know. But, if they're trying for an actual likeness, they're missing the mark by quite a large margin.
Here's a look at their first four offerings from the Batman v. Superman film. Others-- like Doomsday, Aquaman (possibly Flash and Cyborg who are also in the film)-- may follow.
These will be priced at $149.99 each and will start shipping with a new figure each month starting with Batman in May, Superman in June, Armored Batman in July and Wonder Woman in August.
