So, how do these pics look, folks?! Well, the first thing that comes to mind is: a little blurry.
These certainly aren't the crisp, sharp pictures that many other 1/6 manufacturers usually show, but they do give us our first look at the actual Iron Man Mk VII figure.
This will have a major amount of diecast content, and I'm curious to see how that will effect the actual figure. Too much diecast can often lead to top-heavy, floppy figures. Will that be the case with Play Imaginative's Iron Man series? Only time-- and an in-hand review-- will tell.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was recently announced that Play Imaginative would be producing both 1/4 scale and 1/12 scale die-cast Iron Man figures through their "Super Alloy" series, but now it seems that they will also be doing 1/6 scale figures as well!
As far as I can tell at this point however, these particular figures will only be available in Singapore.
Of course, it may be imported to the US and other countries, but there may also be certain restrictions due to the fact that Hot Toys has the worldwide license to create 1/6 scale figure based on Iron Man. Hopefully more information on this will be forthcoming.
In the meantime, the info on this figure touts some pretty impressive specs. It will an 88% die-cast content and weigh just over 2lbs, have light-up eyes and hands, 50 points of articulation and one very interesting "accessory" in the form of a Hall of Armor display base.
The figure will feature magnets in its feet that, when placed in the Hall of Armor, will active the lights within.
As an added bonus, the packaging will feature art by Iron Man artist (as well as Iron Man movie designer/conceptual artist) Adi Granov.
The figure will retail for $425 SGD (approx $350.00 USD) which is actually really affordable when you compare it to the price of Hot Toys' Iron Man MkVII and Hall of Armor. Of course, that doesn't mean that the quality of the two will be comparable, but I guess we'll find that out in time.
UPDATE: It looks like Big Bad Toy Store had this up for pre-order. I'm not sure if it's going to be imported or if they have an official US distributor, but they are charging $449.99
