TOY NEWS FOR 3/1/2013 - PLAYMATES - TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES CLASSICS - BEBOP AND ROCKSTEADY - OFFICIAL IMAGES

There have been many varying opinions among fans as to Playmates' approach to the TMNT Classic versions of Bebop and Rocksteady. Personally, I'm firmly in the camp of "these figures are awesome". Other fans believe that they deviate too far from the original figure designs, others think that they should look more like the cartoon versions.

Playmates has stated that if these two figures sell well that they would love to do more figures geared towards adult collectors with the Classics line, but the success of non-Turtle characters-- in the case Bebop and Rocksteady-- will determine if we ever see as Shredder, Splinter, April, Foot Soldier and so on. I think that these two will sell great, and if they don't, then I blame you all!!

    1. Thank you!

The "Classics" line is based on the original Turtles figures from the 80's and 90's. These are aimed at the adult collector who had them as a kid, so these are more detailed, articulated and a higher price point.

The current basic series of figures are all based off of the Nickelodeon cartoon series.

  3. The Basic series is comprised of these guys. Your thinking of the newer stuff. Not the originals.
