TOY NEWS FOR 10/10/2014 - ZICA TOYS - EAGLE FORCE RETURNS!

If you're not an old school'er like myself then you're probably asking, "Eagle Force... returns?"

Eagle Force was series of 2.75" figures that actually pre-dates GI Joe by a year, being released in 1981 by now-extinct (but highly prolific) Mego toy company. The other selling point was that all the figures were made of die-cast and painted mostly in gold (a bit of an odd choice).

The line consisted of 18 carded figures, a few vehicle/figure sets and one large playset.

Similar to GI Joe, Eagle Force was a "anti-terrorist organization" fighting the forces of R.I.O.T. (Roving International Organization of Tyranny).

Mego only produced the line for one year due to the company folding in 1982. The next year, Ideal used the same molds and renamed the like "Strike Force".

Now, almost 35 years later, Zica Toys, in association with Fresh Money Fiction, and with sculpts by the super talented Boss Fight Studios, is bringing the line back in a modern 4" format.

Shown here is the first look at Boss Fight's design for the first figure, Eagle Force's leader, Captain Eagle.

It's great seeing Boss Fight working with Zica Toys on a second project (the other being the new line of Zica's upcoming 4" Captain Action line).

I'm sure it will be a good while before any of these make it to market, but it will be great fun watching the process and revival of this old cult favorite.
