TOY NEWS FOR 12/20/2013 - FIGURES TOY COMPANY - BATMAN 1966 TV SERIES - RETRO FIGURES - WAVE 1

These have got to be the best looking figures Figures Toy Company have created thus far. The did a great job of mixing the likenesses of the actors with the "retro" feel of this "Mego inspired" line.

The quality of the tailoring of the uniforms also looks to be above what one would normally expect to see with this style of figure.

It's amazing how much product has been coming out since the 1966 Batman Television show license was finally freed up.

From Mattel to Hot Toys, NECA to Figures Toy Co, there's certainly plenty of stuff to choose from for anyone who's been waiting to see figures based on this cult-classic TV series.

What I like about these figures-- which normally I'm not a fan of the "retro" style-- is that they really work with the license. If figures had come out during the height of the airing of the show (which took place more in the 70's during re-runs than it's original airing), these are exactly what they'd look like. (Much like Super 7's Alien figure line.)

Of course back then, MEGO figures cost between $3 - $5 each. These...? Not so much.

Look for them in April at a price of $26.99 each.
