Now that we're getting a closer look at this figure, I'm slightly less impressed. The shape of the helmet doesn't look quite right... It seems kind of wide and squat, and the neck looks non-existent.I'm sure that this is mostly due to the removable helmet feature which, personally, I could have lived without.
I might have to wait for an in-hand review on this one before I drop the cash.

Japanese toy company Medicom announced a few months ago that they would be releasing 6" scale Star Wars figures through their MAFEX line, and now we get a look at the first figure in the line-- Darth Vader!
How will it compare to Hasbro's 6" Vader? Well, I think the MAFEX version will definitely be superior, but there are two issues with it fitting into the Hasbro line (if that's your plan). One, the scale might not be completely accurate. Vader will stand just under 6.5" tall, which sounds about right... Two, expect the price of this Vader to be about thee times as much as Hasbro's.
But, if you're used to buying import toys and want a higher quality Vader, then the price won't matter much.
