INDEPENDANT TOYS UPDATE - RAMEN TOY - 80's COMMANDERS - SILVERHAWKS - AND MORE!

Independent toy manufacturer Ramen Toy has been very busy working on new products for us.

They are unapologetic lovers of all thing 80's when it comes to toys. Their first foray into the industry was with their very successful Centurions homage line that they call 80's Commanders.

Adding to that line, they have their upcoming fully licensed Silverhawks line with Quicksilver and Mon*Star, more figures in their 80's Commanders lineup including unproduced figures from the original Kenner line done in the classic Kenner style so you can display them with your vintage Centurions collection.

They are also giving some vehicles and figures from the original Kenner MASK line the same treatment, for which their first release will be Gloria Baker and her Shark vehicle which was prominent on the cartoon series but never made it into the physical line of toys.

Let's take a look at things, shall we?

In their 80's Commanders line, they gave a good look at two, new upcoming figures with "Antagonist Cyborg" (aka Hacker) and "Land Drone" (aka Doom Drone Traumatizer).

There will be two versions of the Antagonist Cyborg figure (and possibly the Land Drone, too), one will feature cartoon colors, and the other will be in their more realistic colors. Both will be in the 6" scale.

Like the figures in the original Kenner line, the figures can be split apart and combined into different forms. This time around though, they will be haled together with magnets. The Land Drone even has a light-up feature! (seen above)

Sticking with the 80's Commanders, they are releasing a previously unproduced figure that was planned for the 80's line and fits in perfectly with any vintage Centurions collector's display. They will be doing "Apache Commander" (aka John Thunder) along with his Thunder Knife Assault Weapon System. It will have a working, motorized tank system.

You can find the previous update on this figure here.

The latest box set of their original 6" scale 80's Commanders, this time featuring cartoon accurate colors, is just about ready to ship out. Here's a look at those figures along with the beautiful packaging. This set is just about ready to ship out (from Hong Kong) and can still be pre-ordered here for $269.99

Switching gears to Silverhawks, Ramen Toy will be bringing us the leaders of both the heroes and the villains with Quicksilver (and Tally-Hawk) and Mon*Star.

Quicksilver is near finished and will be going into final production very soon. He can also be ordered direct from Ramen Toy here, or, if you live in the US, you can grab him from Big Bad Toy Store here. He's priced at $89.99

Here's a look at the final prototype along with a final product image that features a flight stand that is exclusively included with Mon*Star if you pre-order him direct from Ramen Toy.

That shiny chrome paint sure looks good!

Tally-Hawk attaches to Quicksilver's forearm via magnets

Quicksilver's mask also attaches via magnets

For Mon*Star, we get a look at his blister tray packaging layout. You can find the previous update on this figure here.

Mon*Star can also be ordered direct from Ramen Toy here, or from Big Bad Toy Store here. If you order from Ramen Toy, you can still get him at the "early bird" price of $84.95. (But you have to pay shipping from Hong Kong.) BBTS has him for the regular price of $119.99

Turning to their MASK homage line, we get a look at the early prototype for the Shark vehicle as well as Gloria Baker's mask.

This is another product from Ramen Toy that's meant to fill in the gaps of unproduced product in the original toy line. It will be made to fit in perfectly with your original Kenner MASK display.

Things are still in the early stage with the MASK homage line, so there are no pre-order yet. This line will be exclusive to the Ramen Toy website and won't be carried outside of HK, but you will be able to order it worldwide and have it shipped to your country.

That wraps up the latest Ramen Toy update for now! More to come!
