Just shown for pre-order was this Mego-Style Collector's Case for (and by) the upcoming Figures Toy Company "World's Greatest Heroes" figures. Featured on the front seem to be all the Mego related Batman figures-- including the ultra-rare Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson! While not officially announced, it seems clear to me that they will be a part of this new line. Will other Mego repro figures follow? I actually hope that they do-- but only if the quality is at least equal to the originals.
Also shown were these sculpted heads for a brand-new 12" figure line by FTC based on the 1966 Batman television series of The Joker and Egghead (who doesn't look much like Vincent Price here to me.) It's obvious that they were created to fit in the with the rest of the Mego-inspired rerto line-up.

Well, this is interesting...
I assume that this is part of the recent retro Batman push that Warner Brothers has been doing, but it comes as a bit of a surprise none the less.
It seems that a toy company with the most basic name in the history of toy companies-- Figures Toy Company-- will be doing repros of the old Mego Batman figures from the original "World's Greatest Super-Heroes" line.
Personally, I'm burnt out on the retro figure craze. They look old. Dated. Kinda cheap. Now, if you're talking the original Megos-- they are a major part of toy history and worth the price because of their age, collectiblity and nostalgia. But most companies charge like $20 or more for these repros-- of which most don't even look that great-- and for the simplicity and cheapness of the figures, I just can't buy into that niche.
But who knows? Maybe they'll be awesome. One cool thing about them is that they will have re-sealable collector-friendly packaging.
In this first assortment, you can get Batman, Robin, Joker and The Riddler.
