So here's a look at what the final packaging on NECA's Planet of the Apes classic line will look like.
I'm not a super fan of NECA's clam-shell packaging as I almost cut my fingers off trying to open the damned things and there's really no way to keep the packaging intact if you ever want to safely store them later on.
But I love Hasbro's new box packaging. It's something that Japanese companies have been doing for years, and I always though that the US market should adopt it-- especially for higher priced, collector aimed figures-- and Hasbro has done exactly that with their Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends figures.
Wisely, other companies are starting to follow Hasbro's lead, like Funko with their Game of Thrones figures, and now NECA with their Apes classic figures.
Hopefully this trend will continue. It give the figures a bit more of a "collector" feel and allows for them to be easily placed back in the packaging without damage.
This line should start shipping in July and will retail for around $18.99 each.
