Today was another of Hasbro's "Fans First" days on their YouTube channel.
We got some a look at some new and upcoming Star Wars figures in both the Black Series and The Vintage Collection as well as a Role Play item.
To kick things off, they talked about the upcoming TVC Figrin D'an figure, saying that this will be the only carded figure from the band that will be released, but they strongly hinted that a Box Set was coming that would include all of the band members.
In the Vintage Collection, the focus was mainly on the Clone Wars cartoon series. They showed of figures of Arc Trooper Jessie (with removable helmet), a Death Watch Airborne Trooper, as well as an upcoming box set of four Death Troopers from the Mandalorian which will include one Officer and three soldiers (Hasbro Pulse exclusive). Finally, in the regular TVC line, there will be a Mandalorian Super Commando Captain figure.
There were two more additions to the Vintage Collection in the form of some Gaming Greats figures. First up is a popular fan favorite who has been in need of a re-release, but here we get some upgrades with a new head sculpt. It's Shae Vizla! Also added to the collection is this interesting (and by that I mean "bizarre") version of a young Lando "Peg-Warmer" Carissian.
These will both be Fan Channel exclusives.
Staying with the 3.75" scale, but going way back into the "Retro" line, Hasbro is doing another "prototype" styled figure. This time out it will be Chewbacca. Like the others in this line, this will be a Target Exclusive in the US (Toys R Us in Canada and Fan Channel in the UK).
Heading over the the 6" Black Series, we'll soon be getting a new deluxe figure in the wave in the form of Saw Gerrera as he appeared in Rogue One. This will be a regular release figure.
A new figure joining the Gaming Greats line is RC-1027 Sev. This will be a Gamestop Exclusive, like all the other Gaming Greats Black Series figures.
It looks like Hasbro is expanding its comic book inspired line of Black Series figure with three new additions.
First up is this very cool and unique looking Darth Vader all in white.
He is based on the Dark Horse comic series Star Wars Infinities.
Next up is a figure that I found to be very appealing. Princess Leia has made hundreds of comic book appearances, but rarely in any of her movie uniforms. Much like her other Rebellion allies, she needed to be geared up for action. Here we get a figure representing that. Based on the Marvel Comics mini-series by Mark Waid and Terry Dodson comes this awesome new version of Princess Leia Organa, looking very much like her mother from Attack of the Clones.
The final figure is a character that I'm not familiar with, but with Google at my side, I was able to discover that Sergeant Kreel "was an undercover stormtrooper and SCAR trooper of the Galactic Empire, serving in the 501st Legion under the direct command of Darth Vader." His main adversary in the Marvel Comic series was Luke.
All three figures will be Fan Channel exclusives, meaning that you won't find them at Walmart or Target, but you will be able to pre-order them from Hasbro Pulse and other major online retailers, including Gamestop.
And, finally, like most other Star Wars fan channel reveals, we got a look at what's coming down the "pipeline".
For the Vintge Collection, they told us of four new upcoming figures, all based upon The Mandalorian. Comes sometime next year (hopefully) will be a Klatoonian Raider, an Artillery Stormtrooper (no boulder to run him over with, though), Jedi Luke (!) and a Dark Trooper for him to slice through.
In the Black Series, they revealed two upcoming figures in that line, also based on the Mandalorian. There will be a new Grogu figure (I'm assuming this one comes with the Pram) and Miggs Mayfeild in his season 1 outfit. So, yeah.... Sorry you bought that other one-- but that's exactly what Hasbro wanted you to do! Once again you fall right into their trap! Mu-Hahahahahaaaaa!!!
Oh--! And one last item. For you Star Wars helmet or role play collectors, there will be a 1:1 scale Trapper Wolf X-Wing helmet. this will also be a Fan Channel exclusive.
Everything but the pipeline figures will be going up for pre-order tomorrow (4/7) at 1pm Eastern Time. So head over to your favorite place to order Star Wars merch and place your pre-orders starting then.
