RAMEN TOY REVEAL THE FIRST OF THEIR UNPRODUCED 80's COMMANDERS (AKA CENTURIONS) FIGURES-- APACHE COMMANDER aka JOHN THUNDER

As some of you vintage toy collectors might know, there was supposed to be a second wave of Centurions figures produced by Kenner in 1987.

Prototypes were shown in their Toy Fair catalog, but the line died before the merchandise was released, despite two of the characters making an appearance on the cartoon show.

Ramen Toy, makers of the Centurions inspired recreations line "80's Commanders" has decided to take it upon themselves to fill in these long missing gaps in collector's collections.

While their 80's Commanders figures are in the 6" scale to fit in with many other figures in today's figure market, these new figures are scaled and designed to fit in with your vintage Centurions collection.

The first figure up is John Thunder, the team's Covert Operations Specialist. Since these a fan made toys and not licensed figures, they can't call him that, so here he's named "Apache Commander".

From the look of things, it seems like Apache Commander will come with his proposed and unproduced "Thunder Knife" Weapons System.

This figure will not come cheap, but vintage toy collectors have certainly made many toy projects come true over the years.

Ramen Toy is selling this set for $200 with an "early bird" price of $140. They also need to get a minimum of 800 order for this figure in order to produce it (due to factory quantity limitations). I think that will be harder to do than getting the people who do want it to put down $140 - $200 for the figure.

Pre-orders will open on Ramen Toy's site in June and they plan on shipping the figure out to buyers in December.
