It seems that Mattel, valued at 8 billion dollars, is in talks with various private-equity firms about a potential sale. That's according to a recent article published by the Wall Street Journal.
These kinds of things happen all the time, and sometimes the new company makes major changes, and sometimes they just sit back and reap the rewards of their purchase. Considering that Mattel is in a major monetary growth period, I wold assume that any company that might buy Mattel would leave things as-is, since things seem to be going well.
Hopefully, whatever happens, Mattel will still be around for decades to come and will continue to put out great product. (They're killing it with their MOTU lines and Jurassic Park/World!)
