TOY NEWS FOR 4/23/2013 - CANCELLATIONS - 1/6 SCALE ENTERBAY DJANGO FIGURES, NECA PROMETHUS SHAW AND FIFELD CANCELLED

I really wanted the figures from both of these cancellations, so this is a really bummer.

When the movie studio put the kibosh on NECA's retro-styled Django figures due to the "outcry" of publicity seeking jackoffs people who said that figures of slaves were too controversial, the Weinstein Company decided to avoid controversy like the plague and just fold immediately to pressure and cancel the figures.

Word from Enterbay is that they received the same edict from Weinsten. And so, we shall never have action figures from this amazing film. By the way, Jew-killing Nazis? Perfectly fine to make. I guess there was no "outcry" there....

Meanwhile, NECA has stated that Prometheus Series 2 has not performed well enough to warrant moving forward with production on new molds to create Shaw and Fifeld. In my area, I can't find any of Series 2. I saw them for about a week, then they sold out, and nothing since. So, this is another case of of a toy line where Wave 1 was over-ordered, which made Wave 2 be under-ordered, which killed Wave 3. It happens a lot to many toy lines. Not to mention that, even with a month-long sale of $10 off, no one really put a dent in the overflowing shelf of Engineer vs Trilobite 2-Packs that seem to be at all my TRU's. I think the under performance of that exclusive is what really put the nail in the coffin of the original plans for Series 3.

There will be a "sorta" Prometheus Wave 3. It's supposed to consist of a "Hologram" Engineer and Holloway. There is a slight chance that maybe if these do well enough that we could see Shaw and Fifeld in a Series 4, but I'm not holding my breath.
