I have supported NECA's Prometheus line from the beginning. I enjoyed the movie a lot (unlike most folks) and I think that the figures have all be 100% amazing. (Problems with David's elbow articulation aside.) But, I won't be supporting these.
But, I really want my Shaw figure, at the very least!
NECA had high hopes for this line and so did I, but those hopes have been dashed with less than expected sales. Series 2 came and went in a flash. It was obviously under-ordered due to the amount of Series 1 Engineers that were still clogging the shelves, but that's what makes Series 3 and even bigger mystery to me.
If the regular versions of the Engineers under performed, who is going to want the "hologram" versions of figures they didn't want in the first place?? I guess there's some method to the madness, and obviously NECA wants to squeeze on last drop of juice out of this line-- and pre-existing molds-- before it completely dies on the vine, but they have to know that these won't sell very well at all. I think that leaves a permanent black mark on both the Prometheus license and NECA as company.
But, like I said, what do I know..?
They'll be hitting stores in September for 18.99 each.
No...NO! These aren't anywhere near the figures that fans of the series wanted. What is NECA doing? What a way to crush an already failin (if not already failed) line!
