TOY NEWS FOR 6/6/2013 - SQUARE ENIX - PLAY ARTS KAI - LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII - LIGHTNING

I bought the original FF XIII game in the hopes that I might be able to recapture that amazing experience that I had with FF VII all those many years ago, but I just couldn't do it. Back then, I was in my mid 20's, these days I'm....older, and I just don't have the kind of free time it takes to play these damned Final Fantasy games anymore-- nor do I have the patience to sit through a 20 minute cut-scene every two minutes.
That being said, this figure is really amazing looking. I still find Play Arts' figures to be kind of hit or miss for me, though. I think they did an awesome job with the Arkham City figures (which were my first Play Arts purchases), but I recently acquired the Lara Croft figure and found it to be lacking (mainly in the paint apps and accessories.)

And what's with the price hike on these things?!? They jumped from $60 to $80 in a matter of months! That's pretty drastic! I don't know about you, but that's certainly a bit of deterrent of future purchases for me.

I don't have the official US price on this figure yet, but it's priced at 9,240 Yen-- which looks to be about 95 bucks! Really...? REALLY?? Wow.
