So how does this figure look..? Accurate to the movie-- but he was supposed to look a bit silly in this costume within the context of the move-- and he looks a bit silly here, too.
Yes, it was definitely fantastic to have seen this homage to Kirby's Cap in the movie, but he never saw action in this specific outfit and only wore it on the USO tours-- where people thought he was a goof!
This version comes with accessories that portray him as if he did see action in this outfit. (He did see action in part of it-- but that figure has already been made.) I suppose if you're looking for a realistic figure that represents Cap's earliest appearances in the comics, then this is pretty much dead-on to what you'd want. For me though, I have no interest in this offering.
This will be a summer convention exclusive. Or, as Hot Toys calls it, a "Toy Fairs" Exclusive. In the past, these "Toy Fairs" exclusives have always been offered through Sideshow as well-- of course in limited amounts. I have no reason to think that this figure will be any different, so stay tuned for info on how and when you can get yours.
And if you buy this figure and 3R's Adolph Hitler figure, you can recreate that iconic Captain America #1 cover!
