I was wondering if the Four Horsemen's recently announced revival of the 80's toy line Power Lords was going to be updated versions of the original figures, or a brand new interpretation of the concept. Now we have the answer.
Much like their Outer Space Men, this will be a straight up recreation of the original characters, and that's definitely the route I was hoping that they'd take.
I had many of the original figures as a kid. Sure, there was no cartoon, but there was a comic book by DC Comics. The figures and story had kind of a He-Man vibe, although they leaned more towards the sci-fi side of things.
Seeing these new figures, I have no doubt that the Four Horsemen must have really loved this line of figures as well. They look absolutely perfect! The only thing that I find to be a downside is that they plan on making the line in the 3.75" format. I was truly hoping for something closer in scale to the Master of the Universe Classics figures, but I understand that the Horsemen is a smaller company (just a group of passionate sculptors and toy fans, really), so they don't really have the ability to go all-out and create larger scale figures like Hasbro or Mattel. But, regardless of the scale, I will be buying these figures! I can't wait to see how they handle packaging, too!
