Close..... but just not close enough.
There's certainly nothing to question when it comes to the quality of the figure Hot Toys is showing us here, but I'm a GI Joe purist, and this design of one of Joe's most iconic character is just too far from the Storm Shadow we all know and love for me to be all that excited about this one.
Of course, none of that is Hot Toys' fault. It's just the movie design, and, unlike the new Snake Eyes design, I'm just not diggin' this one all that much.
My main issues are his silly looking sneakers and pants. I can live with the coat... I guess.
I think the addition of a Cobra symbol of his jacket would help a little, but that's obviously not going to happen, and there's really no way I can think of to add one without it either looking terrible or just ruining the jacket completely.
The masked head and the weapons do look awesome, though. But, I think that my Snake Eyes will end up on a shelf alone.
His release date is set for the end of Q2 2013 with a price of $204.99
