TOY FAIR 2013 COVERAGE!!!
I think that Pacific Rim is going to do really, really well for NECA this summer. As for the Long Ranger... well, that one is going to be a serious hit or miss, I think. They seem to be banking much harder on the Johnny Depp film with 1/4 scale and 7" figure. I love NECA, so I hope it pays off for them.
The best of NECA's movie figure showing for me is the awesome ED-209! Finally, Robocop will be able to face off against his nemesis! And then it can fall down some stairs and squeal like some kind of monster......? Yeah, that part was pretty weak and strange.

Despite my initial reservations, these figure look pretty damn good. I'd still love to see something in diecast, but I know that will never happen.... Bummer.

NECA's Prometheus line continues slowly into 2013 with one new reveal: Elizabeth Shaw, who looks just like her! I just hope that we actually get this figure. My Toys R Us is still packed full of Prometheus Series 1 figures, and with series two expected next month, I'm not even sure where they'll go on the shelves. Unless the series picks up soon, I don't see series 3 ever making it to market. I hope that's not the case, I'd love a Shaw to go with David at the very least.

I was surprised to see this figure line when it was announced a few months back, but in the long run, I suppose it is a nice addition for NECA's horror series. And for only being 16, Chloe Grace Moretz sure has had a lot of merchandise made with her image on it over the past few years!Although, to be honest, I really don't see her likeness in these figures...

If this movie is anything other than complete crap, I'll be surprised toy blogger. I don't see this being a good move for NECA.

ReplyDeleteI'm neither a hater or defender. For me, his movies have ranged from "really good" to "just okay". I don't think I've ever hated any of them, though. I love good movies-- so I don't ever hope for a movie to be "bad", I'm not one of those movie snobs. It's just that, for me, I have no interest in seeing Will Smith and his real-life son star in movie where they run from CGI monsters for 2 1/2 hours. It would be great if I'm wrong and the movie turns our to be great because that would mean that I have one more great movie to watch.
