TOY NEWS FOR 5/2/2013 - SDCC - MATTEL - EXCLUSIVE - 1966 BATMAN - BARBIE STYLED CATWOMAN

I'm confused.... I thought this figure was going to be released at retail with the Ken Batman in the usual 2-pack that Mattel does. If that's the case, then why release it on its own at SDCC? The only thing I can think of is that Mattel will have some kind of majorly different and styled packaging that will make it worth buying as a single figure at SDCC rather than waiting for the actual figure at retail.

I do love the fact that they styled her after the 1960's Barbie. It almost makes if feel like it's an authentic 60's figure that actually existed.
