It's a big, big day for Star Wars collectors!
We've got plenty of new product reveals for both the Black Series and the Vintage Collection, as well as some new "pipeline" reveals for both series.
Let's kick things off with the Black Series.
First, the Hasbro Team showed of the new group of figures in the Archive Series. The characters were revealed at the last SW Fan First event, but now we're getting a look at physical product.
In this new wave, we'll be getting C-3PO in his A New Hope look. Joining him will be the very expensive (but not for long) bounty hunter Dengar. The Emperor will also be in the wave, although without his lightning hand effects! Come on, Hasbro! Augh! And, finally we'll be getting Lando in his Skiff Disguise. Ehhh... Sadly, I'm gonna predict this is gonna be the peg warmer of the wave.
These are all non-exclusives and will go up for pre-order at most major online retailers tomorrow with a release date of the Fall of this year.
Also joining the Black Series will be a couple of Gamestop exclusives in their "Gaming Greats" line.
Look for the Nightbrother Archer from Fallen Order and an Umbra Operative Arc Trooper from Battlefront II.
These will also go up for pre-order tomorrow exclusively on Gamestop's website.
Taking a look into the future, we have some "pipeline" reveals for the Black Series. The next wave of Archive figures will be Han Solo from the Force Awakens, Chewbacca with his slicked back A New Hope hair doo, Also from ANH is Grand Moff Tarkin, and finally, we'll be getting Princess Leia in her Boushh disguise. Sadly, we'll never get a Slave Leia in the Archive series. Disney is just never going to allow that kind of figure to exist again as long as they own the brand. Oh, well...
Also coming in the Black Series are some brand new figures in the form of Aayla Secura, Darth Maul from Clone Wars and Saw Gerrera from Rogue One.
All of the "pipeline" reveals will also go up for pre-order tomorrow, but won't be releasing until 2023.
Moving on the the 3.75" Vintage Collection, it looks like Hasbro has a lot of interesting things planned.
In the figure department, Hasbro showed off a Clone Trooper from the 501st Legion with removable helmet. He also goes up for pre-order tomorrow.
That was the only single release figure that they showed us, but there will be two more figures joining TVC line and are included in this very cool playset-- Jabba's Palace. Well, part of it, anyway. Included with this playset will be Han in Carbonite and Ree-Yees. Both figures will be carded, which is cool.
And this next reveal is the grand daddy of all big time reveals for TVC-- (dead) Jabba's Throne from The Book of Boba Fett with a carded, fat Bib Fortuna (who had maybe five seconds of screen time in the Mandalorian post credits scene).
This playset will come with 50 different accessories, a spinning grill, a movable platform and a hefty price tag-- $229.99. It will also only be available on Hasbro Pulse.
This is not a HasLab, this playset is ready to order and is being produced, regardless of how many orders Hasbro gets. The only real question is: how fast will it sell out? While the Black Series Rancor was a bust, I think 3.75" collectors love their playset and will be jumping on this one to use for their Book of Boba Fett and ROTJ displays.
Here's a slew of pics. Will you be picking this one up when it goes up for pre-order tomorrow?
But, this isn't the end for TVC as we also got some "pipeline" reveals for this line as well. Joining us next year will be Anakin from Attack of the Clones and a Mandalorian Commando.
And finally, also going up for pre-order tomorrow (although these have already started to hit physical stores in some parts of the US) will be the next wave of Black Series as well as this TVC Yoda from Empire Strikes Back.
Whew! Okay, that wraps things up for now!
