It's been a good long while since we've gotten an announcement for a new figure from Mezco's GI Joe series in their One:12 Collective line. I had gotten worried that the line was dead already, but that seems not to be the case.
Here we get out look at the next figure in the line-- Snake Eyes (v2). I wouldn't have minded a v1 Snake Eyes, but the fact that he's the 3rd figure in the line isn't much of a surprise. To my eyes, this looks very much like a 6" scale version of ThreeZero's version of Snake Eyes, but that's fine by me, I suppose.
Jeeze... How many people have the Joe license at this point?? Super7 is doing 3.75" ReAction and 7" Ultimates. Hasbro is, of course, still doing their Classified 6" line. ThreeZero is doing 12" figures. Hiya Toys will be producing 4" figures this year. And, here we have Mezco with their One:12 Collective series of Joes.
We went from Joe being dead on the shelves to Joe being one of the biggest licensed brands, and ya know what, I couldn't be happier. Joe deserves to thrive. He's been around, in one form or another, since 1964 when he became the very first boys toys "action figure" (a term created and coined by Hasbro to describe Joe at retail so he wouldn't be called a "doll").
We should get more pictures and info, as well as pre-orders opening up for Snake Eyes soon.
