That's import toys pricing, but this isn't going to be import toy quality. It can't be, because US toy standards (at retail) are different and much more strict than other country's.
I mean, this does look nice, but is this where toy prices are really headed these days? I know that price increases are a very hot topic right now, and they probably should be. But, we aren't going to change these price hikes. If anything, the toy companies will probably just produce less product if we, as collectors, buy less of it.
If you think we won't be seeing $30 standard 6" figures within the next five years, then you haven't been paying attention to the world in the last three years.
Understand, this isn't toy companies trying to gouge us. They're not trying to "screw us over". They don't want to loose the customer base they've built up. Yes, all things being equal, if there's a price hike, we expect more bang for our more buck. But, the cost of everything is going up in every country, including labor costs. The toy companies are just as much over a barrel in these new times as we are with their new prices.
So, it comes down to what you pick and choose to buy. We-- and the rest of the world-- are in a very big transitional period, and we still don't now where it's all going to ultimately end up.
In the meantime, we have this-- a very nice looking figure from a pretty successful company that, if we want it, will run us 50 dollars.
The figure is 6" tall and comes with many swapable parts and a lenticular (which I love and miss and need much more of with my toys) display base. You can order this now from Target and it looks like it's ready to ship now, as well.
