For some unknown reason, Hasbro has decided that their Transformers-- TRANSFORMERS!!!!-- no longer transform, but instead "convert".
Stupid.
But, what's not stupid is this transforming (that's what I'm calling it) Optimus Prime from Jada Toys.
While no where near as cool as the transforming Optimus Prime offered on Hasbro Pulse last year, I think this is still a nice replacement for those of us who couldn't or didn't want to drop like 800 bucks on what Hasbro was offering.
I'm definitely getting this one. I do wish he had his rifle-- and Peter Cullen's voice would be awesome-- but it seems that this is a much more simplistic version than we might hope for. But, again, it's still cool.
This version will be controlled via an R/C remote and will stand 12" tall (34 cm) once transformed. He'll also have some form of lights and sounds.
The only real problem I'm seeing with him are the shoulders. Ehhhh... Those could use a little work.
But, regardless, I'll be picking this one up. No word on price or release date yet, as all we have is this one image from a German catalog. More on this release as is comes to light.
