If you grew up with Godzilla and Godzilla movies, then this line is a must-have. If you don't at least own the Godzilla, run out and get it now while it's still affordable.

Two new figures were shown today at NYCC and one was a total surprise!

First up is Destroyah from 1995's Godzilla vs Destroyah. This was about the time when Godzilla was getting a more serious treatment from Japanese filmmakers who grew up watching the monster's movies. Plus the monster designs were becoming more complex and bad-assed looking.

Just look at this guy.

The surprise figure has to be this guy though-- King King.
Okay, so maybe it's not a total surprise since Godzilla did square off with Kong in 1962's Godzilla vs. King King, but this version seems to be based off Perter Jackson's 2005 film. Nothing wrong with that! It even includes a little Naomi Watts as Ann Darrow figure. Nice!! I wonder how this would look with the Revoltech T-Rex...

A closer look.

Destroyah will be released in Japan in Feb at around USD 160.00.

No word on Kong yet.

Also coming from Bandai's S.H. Figuarts line is this guy-- the Red Ranger from The Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.

Yeah, not a Power Rangers fan. They were after my time (as they say.) I did like the original GoRangers footage that they used (for the most part), but that crappy American stuff was corny and blasphemous to a purist like myself.

But, I know a lot of guys grew up with Power Rangers like I grew up with Thundercats and He-Man and, to them, Power Rangers are an important part of their collecting interest, so this will come as wonderful news. Especially since there's never really been a decent Bandai USA produced figure from Power Rangers. Yeah, the Zords were nice, but the figures were always cheap crap. This Figuarts figure on the other hand looks nice. Certainly as good as a Power Ranger can look, anyway.

"Go go Power Rangers! No, I mean it. Seriously. Get the hell out of here. Now."
