TOY NEWS FOR 7/30/2014 - SDCC 2014 COVERAGE - HASBRO - STAR WARS - BLACK SERIES

Hasbro revealed a lot of new goodies for another one of my favorite toy lines-- Star Wars: Black Series.

Thanks to the new 6" format, I'm collecting and enjoying Star Wars figures all over again, which is nice considering that the original Star Wars line were the very figure figures I ever collected.

Two of the most surprising reveals were the Hoth Luke with Wampa and Hoth Han with Tauntaun.

The Wampa will have a removable arm and Luke will have a cloth scarf and will be packed in the box upside down.

The Tauntaun features the split belly-- just like the original!

Another brand-new announcement was this "Imperial Shadow Squadron" Target Exclusive set which includes black versions of the Stormtrooper, Biker Scout and Speeder Bike.

In the single figure releases, we were shown some figures that we knew were coming-- like Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Jedi Luke and the new Sandtooper, but we also got some new reveals with the Clone Trooper Sergeant, TIE Fighter Pilot and Bossk-- which will feature an articulated jaw and tongue!

The upcoming Wallgreen's Exclusive Prototype Boba Fett was also on display. I tried for the pre-order that was supposed to be available at the con, but it sold out Wednesday night before I even got to the Hasbro booth.

On the 3.75" front, Hasbro had plenty on display for that line, as well. I was especially impressed with the Yavin Princess Leia.

Here are some official Hasbro pictures of most of these new figures, too.
