HASBRO - GI JOE - "VALUE" FIGURES LINE

GI Joe was the one that started it all way back in 1964, so you gotta give the brand props just on that account. On top of that, he was the top selling toy brand all the way into the mid 70's, and then made his triumphant return in 1982 and lasted another 12 years at retail. Since then he's tried to come back a few times, with the 25th Anniversary line being the most successful since the original two lines.

Now, Joe has been back in a new scale-- the current most popular scale-- 6" for almost two years. With Joe being my most beloved brand of all time, I am loving Joe's return and the fact that Hasbro seems to be supporting the brand as well with multiple lines of figures.

With that in mind, Hasbro is releasing another new line of GI Joe figures that will be "value" figures (as they're being called in their online listings). And, thanks to Instagramer JtPrime17, we're getting our first look at three figures from that line.

It seems that these will have the most limited of articulation. From what I can see, it looks like only their arms will move at the shoulders and, hopefully, there will be some head swivel, too. But, beyond that, there doesn't seem to be much else there.

While these are constructed more like Hasbro's "Titan Heroes" brand of figures, these will not be in the 12" range, but rather smaller figures in the aforementioned 6" scale and will sell for a retail price of only $4.99.

Despite all of their limitations, the figures look to be very nicely sculpted and fairly well painted, too. Not a bad line to get your youngsters into GI Joe, and I'm sure collectors will enjoy them as well.

No word on a release date as of yet, but the first wave looks like it will consist of Snake Eyes, The Baroness and Destro.
