These are probably the first figures McFarlane has done for the DC Multiverse line that really has be excited. I'm not into all the new stories and characters and designs, but hit me with figures from one of the best Batman stories from my youth and I'm all in.
As you may already know, the four figures from this Dark Knight Returns line will be shipping early next month (at least according to Amazon) and will consist of Batman, Robin, The Joker and Superman.
At the end of the story, Batman dons an armor that he uses to take on Superman (with the help of Green Arrow and a Kryptonite arrow). The original line up of figures does not include this version of Batman-- although McFarlane Toys has already made one.
The version in this upcoming 2-Pack, however, will be the same mold, but in blue tones, as opposed to the grey and black tones of the original release.
And, while it hasn't been officially announced yet, the blue toned version in this 2-Pack will also be released in a single figure format at some point in the near future.
So, the only thing exclusive to this 2-Pack will be the little, plastic diorama piece.
No word yet on when (and where) this 2-Pack will be available, but we should have more official news in a few days.
