Well, this was a bit of a no-brainer. With Spawn back on toy shelves again this past year, one figure was sorely missing-- Spawn himself.
If you have some of the older Spawn figures, they might look okay with the newer figures that came out in 2021, but the overall execution and design of the new figures are quite different from what McFarlane did in those older days. You may also be like me and own the Kickstarter Spawn, but he's a little small when stood side-by-side with the newer figures. So, what we really need is a proper Spawn figure to go with this new Spawn line.
With this teaser image provided by Spawn creator Todd McFarlane himself, it looks like a new Spawn may not be that far off. At a first glance, it looks like he'll share some parts with the Mortal Kombat version of the character.
I'm glad Spawn is back and doing well in both the toy and comic stores once again.
I'm also very glad that McFarlane is going to deliver a basic Spawn figure in the line. I'm enjoying the new figures and while I only own four so far they're quite nice and just feel like good, solid modern action figures compared to the impressive looking yet brittle and delicate figures of old.
